Goals & Outcomes
Personal Goals for 2015
I: Improve time management skills and organization.
-
Writing out a complete schedule and sticking to it.
-
As soon as I get a task, writing it down and complete it according to its importance (high priority, important but not urgent, can do later).
-
As soon as I get any papers, organizing them immediately and file according to its subject matter.
-
Removing distractions when I need to get work done and setting specific times for those distractions.
II: Receive A's in all of my college courses this year.
-
Completing work early/on-time, so I must leave time to do the work and follow my set schedule.
-
Writing down all assignments and corresponding due dates so I don't forget. Highlighting when I'm done with these tasks.
-
Reading all directions to be sure I'm doing assignments correctly and thoroughly.
-
Asking questions when I have them.
-
Writing flashcards and thoroughly studying for each exam.
-
Paying attention and writing thorough notes for each chapter and during lectures.

III: Spend more time with my mom and brother.
-
Organizing my time with them in it.
-
Asking them about their schedules so I'm not idling when they aren't home.
-
Accounting for traffic. (It takes 45 min. to drive there at a minimum.)
-
Understanding that I won't get work done when I'm with them; thus completing assignments and important to-do's before I drive over.
-
Asking them to visit me out here when they can. (This likely won't happen, but I can ask.)
IV: Save at least $2000 more by the end of this year (after expenses).
-
Buying out less (i.e. coffee, food) and brewing/cooking at home.
-
Going out less, or spending no money when I do go out.
-
Scheduling my time better so I have time to cook meals at home. I won't have to buy out because I'll have already made my food/coffee. (Coffee is very important to me.)
V: Live a healthy lifestyle to boost both my physical and mental health.
-
Waking up early and actually doing the pilates exercises I learned last semester instead of just staring at my mat.
-
Walking to nearby locations instead of driving.
-
Cutting out all drinks with an unreasonable excess of sugar from my diet (not just sodas, but overly-sweetened fruit juices and my beloved Starbucks iced lattes).
-
Making food at home so I know exactly what ingredients go into it, and I can keep myself accountable for exactly what I'm putting in my body.
-
Not tempting myself by buying processed snack foods.
-
Buying healthy snacks to munch on throughout the day.
-
Continuing to exclude meat and meat byproducts from my diet, and adding even more vegetables, fruits, and healthy grains to my diet.
-
Drinking more water.
